Jimia D. Walker earned her Master’s in Child Development at Concordia University, a Master’s in Education Development at FIU and a Bachelors in Elementary Education at Southern Illinois University. She is Executive Director/ Owner at Meaningful Milestones, a daycare center with preschool, and pre-k children 6 weeks of age to 6 years. Jimia oversees the entire operation, hiring, training, parent education, outreach to parents and the community. She has been nominated for a Golden Apple Award for Teaching Capacity; at the Vegas Education 2.0 Conference she received an Outstanding Leadership Award. Jimia is a member of Pretty Girls Pray and is a volunteer at the Women and Children, 6th District Police Committee. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, poetry, and the outdoors.
