Detroit, Michigan – Dr. Alraies serves as the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory, cardiac rehab, and director of interventional cardiology research at Harper University Hospital and Heart Hospital at Detroit Medical Center. He is also an assistant clinical professor at Wayne State University. Dr. Alraies received his medical degree from the School of Medicine, the University of Aleppo in Syria, and completed his internship and residency at Case Western University/St. Vincent Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio. He further completed his cardiovascular medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota and his interventional cardiology training at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.
With over 280 manuscripts published in major peer-reviewed journals and several book chapters on topics related to complex coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement, Dr. Alraies has made significant contributions to the field of interventional cardiology. His research interests are focused on complex coronary interventions, mechanical circulatory support, large bore vascular access, and medical education.
Dr. Alraies has a special interest in using digital and social media as learning tools for healthcare providers. He is a speaker and moderator at national and interventional cardiovascular educational programs focused on interventional cardiology techniques, science, and publications with experts in the field of interventional cardiology.
