Jane Penelope Johnson was born on July 1, 1940 in Danville, Kentucky. She is a graduate of the Famous Writers School, Westport, CT in 1967, The Newspaper Institute of America in New York, the Denis Waitley School of Dynamic Winning in 1969 and the American Association of Christian Counselors in 2001. Penny Johnson (Pen Name) is a Free-Lance Writer/ Poet and Song Lyricist (Patriot and Gospel songs). She was named the Most Admired Woman of the Decade, International Woman of the Year in Cambridge, England and Woman of the Year. She has 30 Editor’s Choice Awards and is listed in International Who’s Who of Intellectuals, America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals, Who’s Who in the World and received the American Medal of Honor for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts and Poetry, 2002-03. Dr. Johnson received an Outstanding Love Award from Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She was also named Poet of the Year in 2020. Ms. Johnson’s mentor is Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. She has a song release named “America” with Hilltop Records in 2005 and the song “Christmas Is” written by Dr. Johnson on the Album “Glory of Christmas,” which was released in December 2008.
