On the strength of 25 years experience as Senior Series Producer for PBS’s science series NOVA , Melanie Wallace announces the launch of Melanie Wallace Media Strategies LLC. A global media strategist, Wallace connects broadcast and cross platform storytellers with financial support and distribution opportunities. She guides programming ideas from concept development to funding and on to successful global distribution.
Wallace brings rare insight into all aspects of factual programming, including content development, talent acquisition and complex business deals. She refined her skills working with commercial and public broadcasters, foundations and government agencies. She’s brokered deals with the BBC, ARTE, NHK and CCTV along with pan-Asian production and multi-partnered international co-productions. Her content expertise includes climate science, STEM education, the role of diverse voices in documentaries, and the evolving media marketplace.
In a recent notable success, Wallace brought Earth Emergency, a PBS documentary to the 2021 UN Climate Conference, COP 26, and to the attention of King Charles III. New projects include BrainStorm a mental health documentary; Never Let Anyone Steal Your Dreams: The Sammy Nestico Story and Imagining a Better World, the life of art therapist and Holocaust survivor Nelly Toll.
Her work has received recognition from the News and Documentary Emmys, Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Awards and George Foster Peabody Awards. She is a member of the International Documentary Association, the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers and has juried for the News and Documentary Emmys, the Duponts and the World Congress of Science and Factual Producers.

Theresa M. Clark received a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Long Island University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and a Juris Doctor from the Jacob Fuchsberg Law Center of Touro College. Jane Penelope Johnson was born on July 1, 1940 in Danville, Kentucky. She is a graduate of the Famous Writers School, Westport, CT in 1967, The Newspaper Institute of America in New York, the Denis Waitley School of Dynamic Winning in 1969 and the American Association of Christian Counselors in 2001. Penny Johnson (Pen Name) is a Free-Lance Writer/ Poet and Song Lyricist (Patriot and Gospel songs). She was named the Most Admired Woman of the Decade, International Woman of the Year in Cambridge, England and Woman of the Year. She has 30 Editor’s Choice Awards and is listed in International Who’s Who of Intellectuals, America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals, Who’s Who in the World and received the American Medal of Honor for Outstanding Contributions to the Arts and Poetry, 2002-03. Dr. Johnson received an Outstanding Love Award from Meadowbrook Nursing Home. She was also named Poet of the Year in 2020. Ms. Johnson’s mentor is Dr. Norman Vincent Peale. She has a song release named “America” with Hilltop Records in 2005 and the song “Christmas Is” written by Dr. Johnson on the Album “Glory of Christmas,” which was released in December 2008. She also has a poem “Our Lives Are But A Whisper” that was included in International Who’s Who of Poets. Ms. Johnson has been included in the 500 Greatest Genius Laureates of the 21st Century. She is married to William Evan Johnson, Sr. and has two children, William Evan, Jr. and Robert Anthony, Dr. Johnson also has two grandchildren, April Michelle and Christian Robert. In her free time, she enjoys piano, singing (Sweet Adelines), dancing, walking and swimming.
