Eldon specializes in fine art from the romantic era. In addition to being an artist, he is also a boatsman, collector, and adventurist. His passion for boats extends beyond painting them; he also maintains his own boats and frequently sails the coasts of Bermuda and internationally. He has participated in larger races, such as the America’s Cup in 1987.
Eldon’s passion for sailing, both in Bermuda waters and in power boating, has been passed down through generations from his grandfather Eldon H. Trimingham to his father Eldon H. Trimingham II, and then to himself, Eldon H. Trimingham III.
Born with cerebral palsy, Eldon has triumphed over the condition, achieving remarkable success in both his career and life. He made history as the first individual with cerebral palsy to participate in the America’s Cup. Additionally, he underwent a pioneering medical procedure during his childhood, which is now widely adopted for cerebral palsy and has significantly improved the lives of countless individuals globally.
Eldon’s notable sailing achievements include winning the Owner and Navigator titles at the 2013 World Championship and repeating his victory in 2014 as a Navigator and a crucial part of the championship-winning team. His prowess on the water also earned him the Canadian Open Championship in 2010.
