Robert West received a Doctorate in Paleontology at the University of Chicago. Immediately thereafter he was a professor at Adelphi University on Long Island. He then became Curator of Geology at the Milwaukee Public Museum. This expanded his paleontology research to Arctic Canada and the Himalayan foothills of Pakistan and Nepal. Then there were two stints as a museum director – Carnegie Museum of Natural History I Pittsburgh and Cranbrook Institute of Science in suburban Detroit before establishing his museum consultancy, Informal Learning Experiences. Now he works with museums worldwide on operational issues, market analysis, solid presentation of contemporary science and different organization on outcome of exhibits. Robert is a member of the American Alliance of Museums and the American Association for The Advancement of Science. He also is a senior member of The Exploders Club. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and traveling.
